• Postgraduate Diploma in Business (HR management) from Curtin University 1987

Interests:

• Enjoy keeping fit (mainly jogging and swimming) share trading and socialising
• Coach under 18′s soccer team (have been coachng since 1999 when two of my boys joined a local club)

Career History:

• Early career in Australia with AMP Society and Challenge Bank
• 5 years working in the UK (1988-1992) for Abbey National (large Bank) and Percom (small software house of 40-100 staff and approx $15m annual revenue)
• Self employed in Perth since 1 January 1993 including starting and selling several technology businesses

Current:

• 2001 started Edensilk Pty Ltd – a business development consultancy to assist ambitious owners of SMEs
• 2003 launched SalesRecruiters – a recruitment agency focused on roles in marketing, sales and customer service
• 2004 launched WebPartner – a DIY web site development suite
• 2006 bought into McDowall Affleck Pty Ltd – an Engineering Consultancy and Construction company – and elected Non-Exec Chairman of the Board of Directors
• 2008 bought into ComSpark Pty Ltd - an Electrical and Data Cabling business – and elected Non-Exec Chairman of the Board of Directors
• 2009 lauched 121Match – distributing an innovative job suitability assessment tool for use by recruiters and staff developers
• 2010 launched MultiCOACH.biz – cooperative of coaches and consultants to owners and managers of small, medium and larger businesses
• 2010 bought into Retail Systems Pty Ltd – professional IT services provider focussed on the needs of retial enterprises including supermarkets, cafes, hotels, etc – Executive Director
• 2010 bought into Hemp Wholesale Australia Pty Ltd – importing and wholesaling hemp based fabrics and related products – Non-Exec Director
• 2011 joined The Executive Connection as a TEC Chair – worldwide peer learning and professional development organisation for CEOs, MDs, General Managers and business owners
• 2011 launched CEOselect – a boutique recruitment and selection service focused on the appointment of CEOs, MDs and GMs

Future: Participate in other Perth based businesses with high growth potential by way of advice, equity, partnership and/or board appointment; while also assisting small and larger companies with recruitment and coaching of key personnel in management, marketing, sales and customer service roles.
